Company News

Our development team has recently released this statement on SDKBox:

Dear SDKBox users:

Many thanks to all our users around the world. Thank you for joining us in a long and wonderful journey.

Since incubation, SDKBox has been dedicated to providing agile and powerful solutions to our customers on top of striving to offer our services completely free of charge. Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that this is no longer aligned to our current realities and goals.

To our customers already integrated our services to an existing project, please kindly take note that:

* SDKBox is a plugin designed to better integrate third-party SDKs to your projects and does not alter the operations of said SDKs in any manner.
* Removing SDKBox will not negatively affect any of the third-party SDKs in any fashion.
* We recommend uninstalling SDKBox from your project at your convenience.

Thank you again for choosing SDKBox and we wish to see you again soon in the future.

What Does This Mean?

SDKBox will no longer be supported and will be decommissioned. But due to popular requests, we have extended most of its functionality until the end of Q2 of 2022.

It is recommended that all new products or products with a long development future move to SDKHub or other alternative monetization SDKs that are compatible with Cocos Creator and Cocos2d-x.

For those using Cocos Creator who continues to want to use it, we have updated SDKBox GUI For Creator in the Cocos Store for developers to use with a command-line function.

The SDKBox GUI For Creator installer is modified and some functions of the SDKBox service have changed. This will include:

  1. SDKBox will not release a new version in the future, and will not make bug fix updates.
  2. At the end of the first half of 2022, downloading plug-ins may become unavailable, you must then use the command line to install the plug-in itself.

Cocos2d-x developers can also continue to use SDKBox, but will need to manually install SDKs into SDKBox in the future.

For instructions on installing plug-ins from the command line, please follow this document. This document covers Cocos Creator 3.xCocos Creator 2.x and Cocos2d-x.

For an introduction to the command line, you can read this document.
